DEVELOPING BRICK NJ: Man Shot Dead in Early Morning Police Involved Shooting
There is an acitive investigation underway into a police involved shooting that left a man dead in Brick Township this morning.
Exact details regarding the shooting is pending a full and thorough investigation.
According to preliminary reports released by The Ocean Prosecutor's Office, at around 5:33 a.m., The Brick Township Police Department received a 911 call from residents in the 100 block of Meridian Drive reporting a physical assault from a domestic dispute coming from the address 151.
Authorities said offciers arriving at the scene were met by a male suspect who they said was allegedly armed with a gun at that location.
The confrontation escalated into at least one police officer firing his weapon at the suspect, causing fatal injuries.
Authorities said two females were transported to an area hospital for unknown non-life threatening injuries, but the women did not suffer injuries in the shooting.
The investigation is being handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
