Kearny Marine 3 unit recovered the body of an unidentified person found floating in the Passaic River on the Newark border.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., police in Newark received information that a body was in the water near Jackson Street.
During a brief search, crews confirmed that they found the person and met Newark Police on their side of the border.
Town of Harrison officials has been notified as well.
The State Regional Medical Examiners' office will determine the deceased's identity and cause of death.
