Deptford Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash with Possible DWI

Deptford Police are investigating a motercycle crash that occured on Saturday night in the Township.

According to police, on Saturday, August 22, at 10:08 pm, Deptford Township Police were dispatched to Tanyard Road, between Cattell Road and Brenner Avenue, for a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, they discovered a two-vehicle crash involving a 2007 BMW 325i and a 1989 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Police report that the investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling north on Tanyard Road and was being operated by William Stotsenburg, 67, of Deptford. Ann Fletcher, 52, also of Deptford was a passenger on the motorcycle.

While slowing to make a turn, the motorcycle was rear-ended by the BMW, operated by Miguel Pichardo, 19 of Westville.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected and sustained serious injury. Ann Fletcher later succumbed to her injuries sustained during the crash.

Miguel Pichardo was not injured as a result of the crash. He was arrested at the scene by Deptford Township Police for Driving While Intoxicated.

Pichardo was charged with DWI, Vehicular Homicide, Assault by Auto, and was lodged in the Salem County Jail on a warrant, pending a detention hearing.
