The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hamilton Police Division are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Hamilton Township, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Officials said Hamilton police officers responded to a shooting in progress in the 4900 block of S. Broad Street shortly after 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Prosecutor Onofri said the victim, identified as Mr. Matthew Morales, 28, of Blackwood, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
