A fatal crash in South Brunswick Township, New Jersey is under active investigation following a multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning.

According to information released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Brunswick Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:04 a.m. on April 19 along Route 1 North at Ridge Road.
Authorities said a 2025 Toyota Camry, driven by a 31-year-old woman from Jersey City, was rear-ended by a 2012 Lexus SUV operated by a 53-year-old man from Chester, Pennsylvania.
After the initial crash, both the Camry’s driver and passenger exited their vehicle.
Moments later, a 2016 Lexus sedan, driven by a 45-year-old Trenton man, struck the rear of the Lexus SUV, pinning its driver between the vehicles.
The SUV driver was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials said the driver of the Lexus sedan suffered serious injuries, while the Camry’s driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. The passenger in the Camry was not injured.

The investigation remains ongoing.
