NJ Transit Police are on the scene investigating circumstances behind a body found on train tracks in Newark’s lower West Ward at this time.
Just before noon, police were dispatched to the tracks located near Roseville and 7th Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, NJ Transit Police found the unidentified person who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are trying to determine if the person was struck by a train or was the victim of foul play.
The incident is under an active investigation.
