Police in Rahway are investigating a stabbing incident that left a male critically injured of Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to a location on Main Street to investigate reports of an injured person at around 1:45 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim bleeding after suffering a stab wound at that location.
Police were told that the victim and an unidentified male suspect prepared to engage in a physical confrontation when the suspect pulled a sharp object and began to attack the victim.
The victim was transported to the hospital and remain in critical condition according to reports. Police detained a male who is believed to be the suspect.
