EMS rushed an unidentified person to University Hospital suffering a severe stab injury in the city's West Ward on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 476 South 13th Street to investigate reports of a person stabbed just before 5:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the badly injured victim stabbed at that location.
Police detained one person who is believed to have committed the crime.
It is not clear if the incident resulted from domestic violence at the investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
