Crash on NJ-27 in Roselle Under Investigation

Police are investigating a car crash that closed a road in Roselle early Friday morning.

According to police, at approximately 1:40 a.m., emergency responses were called to the 100 block of NJ-27 near the Dominoes Pizza restaurant.

Police say the driver of the car left the roadway and crashed full speed into a utility pole at that location.

The impact of the collision destroyed the pole and brought down power lines across St. Georges Avenue, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle did not suffer severe injuries during the crash and no other cars were involved police said.

Police reopened Route 27 about an hour later.
