A crash that involved a police vehicle sent a police officer to the hospital Thursday evening in Newark.
The early evening crash that happened just outside of the 5th Precinct sent EMS to the scene a little after 6:30 p.m. where they arrived to find the crash between the police car and a van at that location.
One police officer was transported to University Hospital where his injuries were not reported to be life threatening. There were no immediate reports of injuries to the van driver.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
