Crash Injures Four in Wayne

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief Jack McNiff announce that at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to Ratzer Road near the intersection of Garside Avenue in the Township of Wayne where two motor vehicles had crashed into two separate telephone poles.

Police say the first motor vehicle, a gray 2016 Honda CRV, being operated by Antonio R. Cruz, 38, of Wayne was traveling eastbound on Ratzer Road when it struck a telephone pole.

According to police, this vehicle was also occupied by Jenelle E. Cruz and a juvenile at the time of the crash.

All three occupants were transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, where Mr. Cruz and the juvenile are being treated for serious injuries and Ms. Cruz was treated for less serious injuries.

The second motor vehicle, a white 2016 Honda CRV, being operated by Heuris Munoz, 35, of Paterson was traveling westbound on Ratzer Road when it struck a different telephone pole.

Mr. Munoz was also transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
