Cranford Vehicle Stop Ends in Possession of Weapon Arrests

A late night stop of a vehicle in Cranford ended with the arrest of two suspects for a weapon recovered in the car.

According to preliminary reports, police attempted to pull a vehicle over in the city for traffic violations when the driver of the vehicle reportedly sped away.

Police followed the vehicle to the vicinity of Raritan Road near North Stiles officers were able to take two suspects into custody while two other males fled on foot according to reports.

Mutual assistance from Linden, Clark and The Union County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search for the two at-large men, but it is not immediately known if they were ever apprehended.

The incident remains under investigation.
