Covenant House New Jersey Needs Your Vote

New Jersey

Covenant House New Jersey, an outreach program that strives to assist homeless youth with essentials, needs your vote.

The organization is hoping to receive a $25,000.00 grant awarded by State Farm Neighborhood of Good Program for the purchase of two outreach vans.

Officials say the organization provides assistance to homeless and at-risk young people on the streets who otherwise may not be able to find their way to their doors where they may receive the services they need. Many times this happens due to distance or a lack of awareness of Covenant House New Jersey services in the community.

However, in order for the organization to get to all those in need on the streets of Hudson and Monmouth counties, the outreach team needs outreach vans that are able to transport the team to hotspot locations where the youth congregate.

The hotspot locations in Jersey City and Asbury Park are usually a considerable distance away, so these vans are essential.

The $25,000 will go towards offsetting the cost of the purchase of 2 vans for our outreach services, which are located in Jersey City in Hudson County and Asbury Park in Monmouth County. Through the availability of these outreach vans, officials say they will be able to reach and build relationships with young people in need, deliver food, clothing, and hygiene packs to them, and provide them with transportation to residential programs, community resources, the welfare office, schools, places of employments, and more. With the use of these vans, they will not only fill the gap and meet the needs of the youth in the community but also meet their need with absolute immediacy.

The grant, if awarded, will provide the ability to meet the needs of young people in need in more inaccessible areas.
