Coronavirus Kills University Hospital EKG Technician in Newark

Newark

University Hospital officials released the following on Wednesday:

"We lost a great one here at University Hospital.

Ms. Kim King-Smith was a hero- an EKG technician on the night shift who passed Tuesday from complications of #COVIDー19.

The family says her smile was "more infectious than the virus that took her life."

Kim was a loving wife and daughter. She loved her dog Nikko, and she dedicated her nights to our patients and community here at the hospital. She had a unique way of loving her family and friends, and she was loved here at the hospital.

All of University Hospital will miss you for who you are.

And folks across our great state will miss you for what you represent: a selfless dedication to patients on the front lines of this crisis.

With a heavy heart, thank you".

More than 100,000 people have recovered from the novel coronavirus, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University.
