Cop Directing Traffic in West Long Branch Struck by Car

A West Long Branch police officer directing traffic outside a high school football game was injured when he was hit by a car.

An officer directing traffic outside the Shore Regional High School shortly before 9:30 p.m. was struck by a 2010 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 21-year-old man.

The officer identified as, Sgt. Brian Kramer, rushed to an area hospital with head injuries after being thrown from the car's windshield onto he the middle of the road.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the Elantra.
