Cool, Windy Sunday for Worshippers in Newark

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to 53 degrees this Sunday morning, but don’t let that mild start fool you, you’ll definitely need a coat as the day goes on.
Overnight rain left roads slick and damp, and scattered showers will continue through late morning into early afternoon.

If you’re heading to your house of worship, expect wet conditions early, but skies are expected to improve later.

According to the National Weather Service, downtown Newark, around Broad and Market, will see:

• A slight chance of showers before 7 a.m., then again after 1 p.m.

• Clouds will gradually give way to sunshine, but temperatures will fall steadily, reaching around 46 degrees by 5 p.m.

• Strong west winds at 14–18 mph, with gusts up to 41 mph, will make it feel much colder.

• Rain chance: 20%.

Tonight:

Partly cloudy with a low near 35 degrees, and continuing gusty winds up to 33 mph.

Bundle up later, a warm jacket or full coat will be a must by the time afternoon services let out.

Stay safe and enjoy your Sunday!
