Newark and much of North Jersey are waking up to a cool, crisp start this Friday morning as the week comes to a close, with dry, pleasant fall conditions.

As of early morning, it was 49 degrees along Monroe and Ferry Streets in Newark’s Ironbound section.
Residents heading out for their morning commute, gym session, or school drop-off will want to grab a jacket; it’s brisk, but the air is dry and refreshing.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 64 degrees. Light west winds between 7 and 14 mph may gust up to 25 mph, adding to the cool feel early in the day.
Tonight will remain mostly clear with temperatures dipping to around 46 degrees.

Forecasters say the day will stay quiet and comfortable , a picture-perfect fall Friday to wrap up the workweek.
