As of early morning, temperatures hovered around 69 degrees on Hawthorne Avenue in Newark’s South Ward, accompanied by refreshing breezes and dry air. Commuters heading to the bus stop or early risers enjoying the outdoors are being treated to a pleasant start to the day. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect a mostly sunny day with a high near 81 degrees. Light northeast winds will shift eastward during the afternoon. Tonight will remain mostly clear with a low around 67. However, forecasters caution against getting too comfortable; the humidity is expected to return starting Wednesday, followed by a blast of hazy, hot, and humid weather on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures climbing back into the 90s.
