Construction Worker Injured After Fall in Harrison

A construction worker was transported to the hospital after he fell while working in Harrison on Wednesday.

According to Harrison Police officials, at approximately 1:25 p.m., emergency responders were called to the 700 block of South Third Street -which is a new-construction residential building that's nearing completion (Fields Construction)- where authorities said a 22-year-old unidentified worker from Union City, fell approximately 25 feet.

Authorities said a safety officer reported that while installing floor joists panels, one of them gave way causing the man to fall.

Offcials said despite the distance, the man was alert and responsive only suffering an apparent leg injury.

Kearny EMS transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment.

Police are continuing to investigate.
