COMMUTER ALERT: Trespasser Struck, Killed by NJ Transit Train in Montclair

Expect delays on the Montclair-Boonton Line as NJ Transit officials suspended service in both directions due to a trespasser strike near Watchung Avenue.

The incident happened at approximately 5:10 a.m. sending emergency responders to the scene after they received reports of a person under the trains.

Officials say NJ Transit buses are accepting rail tickets and passes until service is fully restored.

The identitiy of the victim has not been released at this time.

**UPDATE NJ TRANSIT:** "At approximately 4:55 a.m. Montclair Boonton Line train 6200, operating as the 4:45 a.m. departure from Montclair State University to Penn Station New York, struck and fatally injured a trespasser west of Watchung Avenue station.

No injuries were reported to the ten customers or crew on board. Service was temporarily suspended but has since resumed with 45-minute delays. New Jersey Transit Police are on scene and investigating".

**UPDATE 6:15AM** Service is now restored... Expect some delays NJ!
