The community's help is being sought to find a suspect who is occupying a vehicle that was carjacked at gunpoint early Sunday morning in Newark's Ironbound section.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 23 Avenue C to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.
Units arrived and were met by the victim who told them that a white or Hispanic male pulled a gun and demanded their car shortly before 5:45 a.m.
Police say the victim handed over white 2009 4-door Acura TSX with tinted windows to the suspect.
The car has a reported NJ license plate number "R56-LSR" according to police. Police say the suspect is 5'8-5'10" tall, approximately 170 pounds and war a black jacket during the carjacking.

There were no physical injuries reported.
