North Jersey residents are feeling a true taste of fall this Friday morning, with temperatures dipping to some of the coldest levels seen since early spring.

As of 4:30 a.m., it was just 48 degrees along 13th Avenue and Littleton Avenue in Newark’s West Ward, making coats a must for those heading out early to close out the workweek.
Further north, conditions were even colder; temperatures dropped to 30 degrees in parts of Sussex County, while Morristown recorded 41 degrees.
The chilly air marks one of the coldest starts since March or April, according to the National Weather Service.
Despite the brisk beginning, the day is expected to turn sunny with a high near 63 degrees.
Winds will shift from the north to the southeast by afternoon, bringing slightly milder air.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows around 52 degrees as the region prepares for an approaching nor’easter that could bring unsettled weather over the weekend.
