Newark

We’re pushing through another brutal cold start this Tuesday morning across Newark and North Jersey.

While it will feel slightly better than recent mornings, it’s still nowhere near warm enough to put away the heavy gear.

Winds are light, which is helping take the edge off the cold, but increasing cloud cover will keep temperatures in check.

If you were heading out around 4:30 a.m., temperatures in downtown Newark were near 25 degrees—almost feeling like a heat wave compared to what we’ve dealt with lately.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 34 degrees.

Wind chill values will range between 20 and 30 degrees. Winds will be calm early, becoming southerly around 6 mph this afternoon.

Tonight, there’s a chance of rain and sleet before 1 a.m.

Skies will remain cloudy before gradually turning partly cloudy, with temperatures holding steady around 34 degrees.

Winds will be light and variable, shifting west at around 6 mph after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Bundle up and have a great day, New Jersey.
