Cold, Damp Start in Newark Before Sunshine Warms Up Sunday Afternoon

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

We’re waking up cold and damp across Newark and the North Jersey region as we head into the second half of the weekend.

Good Sunday morning, New Jersey.

If you’re heading out to First Sunday service or starting your day early, you’ll want to bundle up.

Temperatures are sitting around 43 degrees, but with the wind, it feels closer to 37—so winter gear is still a good idea for the early hours.

As the day moves forward, conditions will improve.

You’ll likely be able to shed that heavier jacket later on, with temperatures climbing near 60 degrees and sunshine expected by the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, skies will remain cloudy through mid-morning before gradually clearing, with a high near 58 degrees and a northeast wind around 10 mph.

Tonight, conditions turn mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 44 degrees and light winds.

So expect a chilly, cloudy start—but by the mid to late afternoon, sunshine returns to help warm things up.

Enjoy your Sunday, New Jersey.
