We’re waking up right around the freezing mark this Christmas morning across Newark and the North Jersey region and the holiday spirit is in the air.

Merry Christmas, New Jersey!
It’s currently 32 degrees at South 12th Street and South Orange Avenue in Newark’s West Ward.
Today will be cold but dry, truly the calm before a potentially messy winter storm expected to arrive Friday, as Arctic air pushes in and could drop an estimated 4 to 8 inches of plowable snow in parts of the region.
According to the National Weather Service:
Christmas Day
Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Southwest winds 6 to 11 mph, becoming northwest in the afternoon, with gusts up to 23 mph.
Tonight
