Cloudy, Damp Start to the Week in North Jersey

Newark and the North Jersey region are beginning the week under overcast skies and cool conditions following a rainy weekend.

At 4:30 a.m., temperatures hovered around 61 degrees in downtown Newark, with thick cloud cover and a damp feel in the air. 

According to the National Weather Service, mist and light drizzle are expected throughout the day, making it a less-than-ideal forecast for outdoor lunch plans.

Today’s outlook includes a 30 percent chance of light rain, mainly before 8 a.m., with a high near 69 degrees and a steady northeast wind around 7 mph. 

The cloudy, gray conditions are expected to persist well into the evening.

Monday night brings a 20 percent chance of additional light rain, with mostly cloudy skies and a low near 62 degrees.
