My friends and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a gray and chilly Thursday morning, but warmer weather is on the horizon despite the gloomy start.

Good morning, New Jersey! If you're heading out early for work or school, be sure to grab a jacket—temperatures are on the cool side, and skies remain overcast.
Though it's a damp and cloudy beginning, conditions are expected to gradually warm up as the day progresses.
According to the National Weather Service, areas of drizzle and patchy fog will linger through the morning, with a chance of scattered showers continuing into the early afternoon.
Despite the lack of sunshine, today’s high is expected to reach a mild 73 degrees.
Tonight, rain chances increase, with showers likely after 3 a.m. Skies will remain cloudy, and overnight lows will settle around 54 degrees.
The chance of precipitation is about 60%, with expected rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
While it may not feel like spring just yet, today’s warmer temperatures offer a reminder that milder days are ahead—just don’t forget your umbrella.
