Newark and the surrounding North Jersey region are waking up to a slightly warmer start this Monday compared to Sunday, though cloud cover will dominate much of the day’s forecast.

As of early morning, temperatures hovered around 52 degrees along South Orange Avenue in Newark’s West Ward, accompanied by a light breeze making it feel brisk.

If you're heading to work or stepping out for a morning walk, a warm jacket is highly recommended.

According to the National Weather Service, today's high is expected to reach only around 59 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds between 5 and 9 mph keeping conditions cool.

Looking ahead to tonight, showers are likely—mainly between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.—as the temperature holds steady around 56 degrees.

Bundle up and enjoy your day, New Jersey!
