Clouds, Cool Temps Start the Week in Newark

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

The new week begins on a cool, cloudy note across Newark and much of North Jersey, with scattered showers expected early Monday morning.

Good morning, and thanks for starting your day with RLS Media.

It’s currently 52 degrees at 4:30 a.m. outside Penn Station in downtown Newark, where light breezes keep the air crisp.

Up in Sussex County, temperatures are even colder, dipping near freezing in towns like Sparta.

According to the National Weather Service, clouds will increase throughout the day, with a 40% chance of rain after 1 p.m.

Highs are expected to reach around 60 degrees, with calm winds shifting south at 5 to 7 mph.

Tonight will gradually clear, with temperatures expected to fall to around 46 degrees.

Jackets and light coats will still be useful for those heading out early or late.

Make it a great Monday, New Jersey!
