Clifton Police Chase Ends in Crash with Two Injured

A 29-year-old Clifton man was arrested after he allegedly ensued a police chase that resulted in several crashes that injured at least two motorists.

According to police, Jamaiky Ramos-Nazario, driving a 2002 Honda Civic, sped off Friday after police tried to stop him in the area of Lexington Avenue and Ackerman Avenue.

As he sped off through various streets, Ramos-Nazario lost control of the vehicle and struck three vehicles that left at least two motorists suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Ramos-Nazario, despite vehicle damage, kept going till Chestnut Street in Paterson where he attempted to flee by foot.

He was ultimately arrested and charged after a brief struggle.

Ramos-Nazario was charged with eluding, causing injury while eluding, resisting arrest and obstruction.

He also received several summonses for offenses that included driving while suspended and leaving the scene of an accident.

The injured motorists were transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
