Clifton Man Detained Pending Trial for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Passaic County officials, announce the pretrial detention of Isaias Guadamur, 26, from Clifton. Mr. Guadamur was arrested on June 23, after an extensive investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in conjunction with the Clifton Police Department.

According to county officials, Mr. Guadamur is charged with Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Officials said that on April 16, the Clifton Police Department responded to a residence in their town on a report of a fourteen-year-old child being sent pornographic messages by an adult male individual on Snapchat. 

Thereafter, Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, including the child victim, who reported receiving multiple pornographic messages from a Snapchat user. 

A further investigations indicated that police were able to determine the individual sending the pornographic messages to the victim on Snapchat was Mr. Guadamur.

According to county officials, shortly after Mr. Guadamur’s arrest, the State filed a motion for pretrial detention. The detention hearing was held on June 30, before the Honorable Marybel Ramirez, J.S.C. 

At the conclusion of the hearing, Judge Ramirez granted the State’s motion for pretrial detention. Mr. Guadamur will remain detained in the Passaic County Jail pending the disposition of the case.

According to officials, Mr. Guadamur is also detained in the Passaic County Jail for unrelated charges of second-degree Sexual Assault and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child stemming from his June 28, arrest out of the City of Paterson. 

In that case, on March 27, the Paterson Police Department responded to a residence in the city where it was reported that an eleven-year-old child had been sexually abused on multiple occasions. 

The Paterson Police Department took an initial report and then referred the matter to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for further investigation. 

Prosecutor’s Office Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, including the child victim, who reported being sexually abused by Mr. Guadamur.
