At 61 degrees near Vailsburg Park in the city’s West Ward, the morning chill is paired with some light precipitation, a lingering effect of Hurricane Erin passing offshore.

Although Erin won't make landfall in New Jersey, its presence is still being felt.

The National Weather Service has issued high surf advisories for the Jersey Shore, with dangerous waves reaching between 9 to 13 feet.

Minor coastal flooding is possible in low-lying areas due to the rough surf and higher tides.

In North Jersey, any morning rainfall is expected to taper off as the day progresses. Sunshine will gradually return, but the cool air will remain noticeable throughout the morning.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 76 degrees.

Winds will shift from the northeast to the southeast at 6 to 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy your day, Jersey!
