Children Evaluated After Elevated Carbon Monoxide Levels Found Inside Newark Home

Medical professionals evaluated several children after emergency responders found elevated carbon monoxide levels inside their home in Newark's Central Ward.

Firefighters were called to a three-story multi-family house located in the 40's block of Blum Street to investigate reports of suspicious activities at around 4:17 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews detected elevated CO levels inside the building and began to check on occupants inside the home.

About four children were among several people checked for illnesses due to possible prolonged carbon monoxide exposure according to reports.

The cause of the elevated CO levels is under investigation.

There were no severe injuries reported.
