Child Suffers Facial Burns in North Plainfield

Police in North Plainfield are investigating an incident where a child suffered burns at a residence overnight in North Plainfield.

According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the teen's block of Willow Avenue after receiving reports of an injured person just before 10 p.m.

Units arriving at the scene found a child, around the age of one-year-old, suffering non-life threatening burns to the face at that location.

EMS transported the child to St. Barnabus Medical Center in Livingston for treatment.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the child somehow came into contact with hot coffee, but the incident remains under investigation.
