Cherry Hill Man Arrested for Explicit Images of Minors

Cherry Hill

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Cherry Hill Police Chief William Monaghan reported a Cherry Hill man was arrested this morning for possession of explicit images of minors.

Phillip Sheppard, 42, was charged after detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant early Friday morning at his Cherry Hill home.

Detectives seized numerous digital media devices from inside the residence and discovered images of explicit images of minors during an onsite preview of Sheppard’s computer.

Sheppard, a software engineer, who is also a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America in Cherry Hill, was charged with one third-degree count of possession of explicit images of minors by summons and released.

The investigation began after detectives noticed activity indicative of explicit images of minors coming from an IP address associated with Sheppard’s residence.

CCPO detectives were assisted in this case by members of Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Division, the Waterford Township Police Department, and the Cherry Hill Police Department Tactical Team.
