The National Weather Service said Newark and North Jersey residents should be prepared for changing weather conditions today.

There is a slight chance of showers expected between 8 am and 11 am, followed by a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 am.

NWS forecasters say some of these thunderstorms might even bring small hail and gusty winds.

Despite the possibility of rain, the day will still offer some sunshine, with the high temperature reaching around 86 degrees.

The wind will start as light and variable but is expected to shift to the south, blowing at speeds of 5 to 10 mph during the morning.

NWS forecasters say the humidity level is measured at 73%, indicating that the day might feel more humid compared to the previous Friday.

As the day progresses, it's essential to stay updated on weather forecasts and have an umbrella or raincoat handy in case the rain arrives.

The barometric pressure is at 29.89 inches, suggesting relatively stable atmospheric conditions.
