Residents across Morris County are invited to experience a colorful celebration of culture, community and tradition as the Parsippany Library prepares to host its annual Diwali Festival of Lights celebration next month.
According to information released by library officials, the free community celebration will take place Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parsippany Main Library, located at 449 Halsey Road.
The event will bring families, friends and neighbors together for an afternoon featuring live music, traditional dance performances, henna, family crafts and a variety of food offerings.
Food trucks from Sonny’s Indian Kitchen and GeluSomerset will also be available during the festivities.
Diwali, widely celebrated by millions around the world, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The holiday is traditionally marked by gatherings, colorful decorations, lights and celebrations with loved ones.
Library officials say the annual event provides an opportunity for residents of all cultural backgrounds to experience the traditions of Diwali while strengthening connections throughout the community.
“Diwali has become an annual tradition at Parsippany Library,” said Library Director Melissa Kuzma. “And we are proud to continue to celebrate with the community year after year.”
Organizers emphasized that everyone is welcome, whether they have celebrated Diwali for generations or are experiencing the Festival of Lights for the first time.
The celebration is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, whose support helps bring the annual cultural gathering to the Parsippany community.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festivities.
