Wow, RLS Metro Media friends and family, the aftermath of these snowstorms has been quite something, with mountains of snow still melting. Now, these rainy days help wash it all away, making room for March, and we are starting to see a warm-up!

According to Carteret officials, in honor of ‘Read Across America’ on Wednesday, March 4th, the Children’s Concert with Jennifer Hyjack, hosted by Carteret Public Library, located at 100 Cooke Ave. Carteret, NJ 07008, in the Children’s Section of the Library, held a delightful concert for kids and their families to enjoy Mrs. Hyjack's musical selections.

According to officials, Jennifer Hyjack has brought the magic of music to kids across New Jersey and Brooklyn. Booking events including kids’ parties, senior sing-alongs, school assemblies, and even private lessons. Her goal is to bring the power of rhythm to little boys and girls, even our seniors, and she is doing an amazing job!
“Love her! She incorporates so much learning through music,” a parent exclaimed.

No matter what type of musical performance Ms. Hyjack is leading, she ensures she blends storytelling, music, and all-around fun to create fantastic, lasting memories for kids and their families. Officials say she received an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School and a certification in Elementary Education, all of which helped her become not just a singer/songwriter, teacher, and actress/comedian, but also a mom and a wife. That is dedicated to celebrating the meaning of music and passing that on to younger generations.

Not only being the creator of ‘Boom Chicka Boom’, but ‘Jenn Hyjack's Music Station’, two shows you can find on YouTube, that consist of fun, imaginative children’s musical selections that take center stage! Ms. Hyjack wrote, produced, and starred in her own TV pilot, with plenty more episodes already out, officials said!
If you are interested in booking her for an event, contact her through her site or Instagram, where she would be more than happy to set up the perfect performance for any musical event/lesson you need!

The day was a gray and cloudy one for sure, but so many were able to show up and sing right along with Ms. Hijack or Ms. Ray of Sunshine, as some know her, because the way she makes the kids light up when she sings to them is a sight to see.
“Plant that reading seed and always use your imagination,” Ms. Hyjack explained to the kids, the importance of reading, and how your imagination will come to life through stories.

She started out with sweet songs to help them remember their ABCs using the book “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” written by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault, which teaches the alphabet through fun rhymes! Using her songs to get the kids dancing and even some of the adults, encouraging the love of reading, and how it can help their minds grow. It was amazing to see how excited the kids were about learning more about how they can use their imagination through reading.
Yet another fun but simple way Carteret Public Library offers to get the whole family out of the house: immersing in music lessons, interacting with kids through creative stories, or even watching movies that teach them about the importance of love.

The staff and families always meet me with such warmth from the moment I step in to the moment I leave, making me feel like I am always a part of their community, something Carteret always does a great job at!
“I had just as much fun as the kids did, LOL!,” another parent exclaimed.

RLS Metro Media family and I thank you for welcoming me into this little world within my community during this winter. Can’t wait to see more exciting events happen there. Remember to stay safe and warm!
