Hi there, RLS Metro Media family and friends! I hope your summer has been as memorable as mine! I have been tanning under the sun at the beach, attending festivals & concerts, and just enjoying those nice long rides home at night, where the summer breeze is flowing in your hair, making you feel like the whole world is quiet for a moment.

Just as summer should be, no worries while you're having fun; keep having as much of it as you can! You can keep having that fun right in your community, like mine, which hosts Annual movie nights to celebrate the last moments of summer.

There's no reason to be indoors when you can be out having fun. Even if it's just watching a movie on a big screen in your local park, you’re making memories, that’s what counts!

My community in Carteret, hosted by the honorable Mayor Daniel Reiman, holds Movies in the Park throughout July & August every Wednesday and Saturday starting at 8:30 p.m. at Carteret Park. Located at Carteret Ave. and Cypress St., Carteret, NJ 07008.

You can bring your friends and family, sit down on a blanket, and enjoy some good food while watching a fantastic movie together.

People have been coming out to enjoy movies together for about 10 years, according to Carteret officials.

“It’s so great to see not just little kids but teens and even adults enjoying something as small as a movie in the park,” a parent exclaimed.

That night’s feature showed ‘Moana 2’ and let me tell you, the moment you saw that girl's hair flowing in the wind, the kids knew to sing along with her. It was amazing yet funny how they knew all the lyrics.

‘Moana 2’ features Auliʻi Cravalho (Moana) and Dwayne Johnson (Maui), who came back as their roles in the second film of the franchise. We see Moana with her little sister and reunite with Maui three years later. All in hopes of reconnecting the people of the ocean through yet another big adventure of breaking a curse.

“Especially on a nice summer night where it’s cooled down enough to the perfect temperature, you can bring a blanket, some snacks, and enjoy for a little while. It really is nice,” a couple explained to me.

Without fail, you see kids playing, singing along, and those who are locked in making each scene their own little memory, such a sight to see where, for a little while at least, kids to adults are being worry-free!

The charming town of Carteret once again gives us these last few moments to enjoy summer before we're slowly led into the quieter and colder months.
