Carteret Man Charged for Fatal Shooting

Authorities in Middlesex County announced that a Carteret Man was charged in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred on March 12 in the Borough of Carteret.AdMiddlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said on March 12, at approximately 9:57 p.m., authorities responded to the area of Roosevelt Avenue following a report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival, officials say, officers located one male victim, who sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for treatment.

According to officials, Evan Blozen, 23, of Carteret, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Officials stated that an investigation led by Sergeant Luis Maldonado of the Carteret Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Javon Robinson, 22, of Carteret, was the perpetrator.

Authorities say today, April 4, Robinson was arrested in Carteret without incident and charged with first-degree murder, second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun.
