Police in Newark alerted police departments in the region to be on the lookout for a vehicle carjacked in Newark's Upper West Ward on Sunday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 50's block of Sanford Place to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.
Upon arrival, police were told by the victim that the suspect took their white Toyota Highlander then sped away from the scene.
The vehicle has reported Massachusetts license plate number "1VS311".
There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
