Police in Newark recovered a vehicle that was carjacked at gunpoint in Irvington Township late Sunday night.
Shortly before 11:50 p.m., Irvington police were alerted to a carjacking in progress on University Avenue, where approximately four suspects approached a victim and took their Hyundai at gunpoint.
The stolen vehicle was later observed traveling through several areas of Newark before officers located it in the teens block of Grain Street in the city’s West Ward.
No serious injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been announced immediately.
