Newark Police are investigating a shots fired incident that caused property damage in Newark’s South Ward this afternoon.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 849 South 18th Street at approximately 2 p.m. where responding officers arrived and located evidence that a shooting occurred but after they searched the area, there were no injuries reported.
A car was struck by bullets but police say there were no occupants inside.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
