Car Strikes Five Pedestrians in Downtown Newark

Newark Police are investigating a motor vehicle incident that involved five pedestrians struck in the city's downtown today -Saturday-.

Police say just after 4 p.m., officers responded to Maiden Lane and Halsey Street on a call of multiple pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle.

According to police, two vehicles collided with one of the cars losing control striking the group of five individuals.

One victim was transported to University Hospital and is said to be in stable condition while police say the other four victims reported complaints of pain at this time.

Both drivers remained at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation.
