Car Ignites in Flames After I-78 Crash in Hillside; Injuries
NJ State police are looking into a crash that caused a vehicle to catch fire on an interstate in Union County Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, two victims suffered non-life threatening injuries after a motor vehicle crash that occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-78 near exit 54 at around 10:30 p.m.
Police temporarily closed all lanes of the highway as firefighters extinguished the blaze and EMS treated the patients at the scene.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire then check the vehicle for trapped and injured occupants which came back negative.
NJ State Police are continuing to investgate.
