Car Fire Causes Traffic Delays on NJ Turnpike in Elizabeth

Elizabeth firefighters made fast work of extinguishing a fire that engulfed a car on a highway in Union County on Wednesday morning.

It happened just before 10:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the NJ near mile marker 103.3 in Elizabeth.

Officials say the driver of the car managed to escape without harm.

The fire caused some minor delays on the highway and the cause has not been determined.

No injuries reported.
