FREEHOLD – A 59-year old female died as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle early Sunday morning in Neptune Township, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Police say Sonia Naranjo, 59, of Neptune Township, was walking in the area of State Highway 35, just north of Brockton Avenue in Neptune Township at approximately 12:02 a.m. Sunday morning, when she was struck in the southbound lane by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruse driven by Patrick Howe, 29, of Bradley Beach.
The victim was pronounced deceased at 12:42 am.
The driver was the sole occupant of his vehicle and he was unharmed.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and Neptune Township Police Department.
