An investigation is underway into a crash that left two people with life threatening injuries in Newark overnight.
Firefighters and rescue crews rushed to the area Bridge Street and Broad Street at around 2 a.m. where they arrived to find a crash that involved two vehicles with at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.
The badly injured, unconscious victim was swiftly extricated from the vehicle and transported to University Hospital where their injuries were reported as life threatening.
EMS transported one other victim to the hospital suffering critical injuries according to authorities.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
