Cape May Man Accused of Rape, Invasion of Privacy of Juveniles

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor, Chief Chad Callahan of the Ocean City Police Department, and Chief Christopher Leusner of the Middle Township Police Department announce the arrest of 20-year old Christopher Fox, a resident of Rio Grande, New Jersey.

On February 16, 2016, the Ocean City Police Department along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit initiated an invasion of privacy investigation involving juvenile victims.

As a result of this investigation, in the early morning hours on February 18, 2016, a court authorized search warrant was executed on Christopher Fox’s residence which is located in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township. Seized as a result of the search warrant were amounts of suspected cocaine and marijuana along with numerous electronic devices and a .380 caliber handgun.

As result of this investigation, Christopher Fox was charged on February 18, 2016 with aggravated sexual assault, a crime of the first degree, endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the second degree, invasion of privacy, a crime of the third degree, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree, distribution/possession with the Intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree, distribution/possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the fourth degree, certain persons not to have weapons, a crime of the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a disorderly persons offense.

Fox was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $250,000.00 bail which was set by the Honorable Judge Porto, JSC.


Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a first degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison. Persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
