Califon Fugitive Arrested on Outstanding Warrants, Hindering Apprehension

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, Tewksbury Township Police Chief Thomas Holmes, and Readington Township Police Chief Sebastian Donaruma announced the arrest of one individual on outstanding warrants.

According to authorities, on August 1, 2017, Somer Stephenson, 40, of Califon, was arrested by the Hunterdon County Fugitive Task Force and the Tewksbury Township Police on numerous warrants originating from Hunterdon and Warren County.

In addition, Stephenson was arrested for Hindering Apprehension, a third degree crime, after she fled into the woods when approached by police.

A K9 Officer and handler from the Readington Township Police Department assisted in the apprehension of Stephenson.

The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
